Monkey Face is a brasserie and cocktail bar that opened June 2006 on the
back of the success of its sister restaurant 'Nahling'. We
aim to serve the
local community with an extensive variety of worldwide cuisine - European,
Asian and other culinary delights. We have put together an extensive and
well-rounded wine list, adding to our varied and flavoursome cocktails.
Within Monkey Face there are large seated areas with excellent
air conditioning; we can cater for private functions between 20
- 125 and have relaxed private areas and also a la carte dining
seats. The following is
a
brief background to where the name Monkey Face derives from:
Nahling (the Thai word ) for Monkey Face. This is a common term
used for
the cheeky children that live in the Lophuri area . Lophuri is situated
approximately 95 miles north of Bangkok and is commonly known as 'Monkey
Town'. In this town monkeys are worshipped and they have their own
designated festival once a year: this is where all the monkeys are dressed
up in clothes and treated regally with their own buffet of Thai
specialities to eat.
